A file enclosed in an email\nmessage is known as an attachment. There are a number of different\nsources a file can be attached to an email from. They include the\nfollowing.<\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li><p style=\"margin-right: 2.4cm; background: transparent\">A\n\tcomputer\u2019s disk drive<\/p><\/li>\n\t<li><p style=\"margin-right: 2.4cm; background: transparent\">An\n\texternal disk drive<\/p><\/li>\n\t<li><p style=\"margin-right: 2.4cm; background: transparent\">An\n\tonline drive within an email account<\/p><\/li>\n\t<li><p style=\"margin-right: 2.4cm; background: transparent\">A\n\tnetwork drive<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.6cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\n<font size=\"4\" style=\"font-size: 16pt\"><b>Attachment Sources<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.4cm; margin-left: 0.6cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\n<b>Files from the computer&#8217;s Hard Disk Drive:<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.4cm; margin-left: 0.6cm; background: transparent\">\nFiles stored on a computer&#8217;s hard drive can be attached to email\nmessages. The given file to be attached must be uploaded to the email\nin order to attach it to an email.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.2cm; margin-left: 0.5cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\n<b>Files from a USB drive:<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.2cm; margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\">\nFiles from a USB drive can be attached to an email, too. The only\ndifference is the source of the file. Instead of the file coming from\nthe hard drive, it is attached from a USB drive. An\ninline file attachment is a file attachment from an email account\nitself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.5cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\n<br\/>\n<br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\"><br\/>\n<br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\"><b>Files from\na network drive:<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.4cm; margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\">\nFiles from a network drive is an option to consider when network\ndrives can be accessed from a given computer. One example of a\nnetwork drive is a server\u2019s disk drive. Standalone drives can also\nbe added to computer networks, too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\"><br\/>\n<br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\"><br\/>\n<br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.6cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\n<font size=\"4\" style=\"font-size: 16pt\"><b>Ordering of File\nAttachments<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.6cm; background: transparent\"><br\/>\n<br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.1cm; margin-left: 0.5cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\n<b>Order of attachments in an email:<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.1cm; margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\">\nAttachments in emails are either ordered from last attached file to\nfirst attached file or vice versa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 2.1cm; margin-left: 0.5cm; background: transparent\">\nTo change the order of attached files, the attachments must be\nremoved from the email and attached in the order that will result in\nthe new desired order of attached files to the given email message.\nAn example is the following.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.4cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\n<b>File#3 File#2 File#1<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 1.9cm; margin-left: 0.4cm; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: auto\">\nHere, the files are ordered from last attached to first attached. The\nmost recent attachment gets listed first, the, the next most recent\nattachment, and so on. Attachments can be listed vertically or even\nhorizontally in emails, depending on the email service provider or\nemail client.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><b>Attachment Size Restrictions or\nLimits<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 1.9cm; background: transparent\">Email\nproviders all have attachment size limits. This is mainly for\nsecurity reasons. Without attachment email attachment size limits,\nthe risk of extremely large file attachments posing a risk to the\nfunctionality of email servers would be high. When large files are\nsent as spam, if the size of the file is too large for the email\nserver to handle, the email server could cease to function. Email\nattachment size limits are determined and set by the email service\nprovider providing email service. To send files greater than the set\nmaximum size limit, there are means of doing so. File sharing\nservices allow people to share files. Dropbox is a well known and\nwidely used file sharing service. \n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><br\/>\n\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><b>Methods of Attachment Insertion<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">A file attachment can be inserted into\nan email by using the method of opening or saving the file from the\nfolder it is in to the email. One can also drag and drop a file from\na folder to a specific spot in an email message. The latter method is\nincreasingly becoming an option for people to utilize.
